Matthew Both, Founding partner of Bleay Both Uppal, LLP
Throughout my career, I have maintained a broad practice. I have had carriage of files involving business disagreements; real estate, strata, and construction disputes; insurance claims; bankruptcy and insolvency matters; estate claims; employment and labour issues; and matters of professional regulation and discipline. I have appeared before all levels of the courts of British Columbia, and have appeared before the superior and provincial courts of Alberta. In addition, I have represented clients before a variety of administrative tribunals, and at arbitrations, mediations, and settlement conferences.
I received my juris Doctor in 2010 and my Bachelor of Arts in 2004, both from the University of British Columbia. During law school, I earned several legal scholarships and awards, and volunteered with the U.B.C. Law Students Legal Advice Program, the U.B.C. Law Review, and Big Brothers of Greater Vancouver.
Before embarking upon my practice in law, I worked in several key industries, gaining expertise on the inner workings of port authorities, universities, municipal governments, and sports organizations. In addition, I taught a course in strategy designed to prepare students for the Law School Admission Test, and owned and operated a painting franchise.
