SUMMARY:Asbestos Education
DESCRIPTION:Asbestos education is necessary for strata managers and owners. Many people assume that only older constructions/buildings contain asbestos\, but this is a misconception. Even newer stratas can have asbestos\, especially if constructed with materials recycled from older buildings or sourced from suppliers who have not fully eliminated asbestos from their products.\nThis webinar will discuss the potential presence of asbestos\, how to identify it\, proper safety protocols during renovations and the steps to take if they suspect its presence. \nWhen: Tuesday November 26\, 2024\nTime: 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm\nWhere: Virtual\nNOTE: (The Zoom link will be included in your order receipt. She works as a Prevention Safety Officer with WorkSafeBC and holds a Canadian Registered Safety Professional designation. At WorkSafeBC she has contributed to the residential and commercial planned asbestos inspection initiatives and the development of the asbestos certifications and licensing requirements that came into effect on January 1\, 2024. \nHer career in occupational health and safety is driven by a passion to protect the rights of workers to a healthy and safe workplace.
